So I've just been out looking at this queen, I got given two buckfast queen's last year and this one is a daughter of one of them, on just looks alone what do you think.
Mongrel buckfast Clee local.
They are stable enough even the first cross. IMG_20210731_164919.jpgIMG_20210731_164917.jpgIMG_20210731_164835.jpg
She was reared in June and is in a 14x12 with 4 supers above..
I know I'm a black Amm lover but you know they are nice to work with as well.
They are big bees even the queen's.

So how have the buckfast compared and is the queen in question not second cross? I’d suggest if they are being given away there probably f1. I’m not sure I’d be giving away my breeders😂 colours pointless this 1 is island mated buckfast 1627764559713.jpeg

They were f1 queen's I was given but he has all bucks and like you has got purer stock the queen in the photo would be second cross but they are still nice bees to work with.

Queen looks much the same as mine but your workers have more consistent banding.
My drones seem to be black in my buck colonys. With a mix of workers.
Nice looking queen though ian
