Yes, really, otherwise I wouldn't have said so. Probably why there are lots of styles of footwear, to suit all tastes.
Certainly, footwear is subject some to highly individual preferences!

You'll note that while you said "comfier", you didn't say comfier than what - which was all that I was querying! :)
I don't wear them because they're warmer or drier than either neoprene or plastic, nor because they look butch. I wear them because they're comfier. :)

Disenchanted with Hunters which used to be my favourites - 25 years from one pair and comfortable enough to go on long hikes in them in winter. Next pair (bought from Sc*ts) I was told Hunters now made in China, this pair has lasted barely 2 years. Now into L*dl's own at £7.99, good and grippy, quite comfortable, let's see if I get my money's worth?
Oh - and a size too large with Bama Sokkets on in winter, of course.

These seem to offer quite good leg protection

For Apres Bee parties?

I've got a pair of Jack Pyke Countryman's.
Warm as toast (neoprene lined) with full length zip up the side, just like those V-expensive French ones but 1/4 of the price & NOT FRENCH!
