I know ive spoken about this before but couldnt find the thread so I have started a new one.

I have just ordered one of these.

At £189 I thought it was worth a punt!

Seems to be somewhere in the middle of the two wagner systems at screwfix that are £249 and £599.

I bought the Wagner one (https://www.screwfix.com/p/wagner-c...ss-paint-sprayer-520w/8314x?_requestid=431031) but, so long as you can spray thick masonery paint, it'll do the job. It's the tips that make the difference

Edit: I just looked at the spec. It says nothing about the range of tips (nozzles) you can use. You also have to load the paint into the hopper rather than have the machine suck it up using a filtered inlet. It'll probably do the job but you'll get fed up refilling the hopper. The Wagner will go through a 10L bucket of masonery paint in no time (I did about 40 Langstroth nucs out of 3*10L buckets of Sandtex (https://www.screwfix.com/p/sandtex-ultra-smooth-masonry-paint-mid-stone-10ltr/17664)

My mistake. I see the second hose now

Phew! Jury's still out on whether it'll suck up masonry paint without thinning

I bought one of these to spray my nucs. I'm back using a brush.

They need a lot of cleaning, which put me off as it's a bit of a faf.

is it the exact model?

how did it cope with masonry paint?

Yes. Fine.
After a while, you do get a bit of paint on the guards of the gun but just scrape that back into the bucket and carry on.
If you have a lot to do, it beats painting with a brush. The time saving alone is worth it. Then, you have the absence of streaks, drips, etc - a much neater job (not that the bees notice)!

That's what im after.

Takes forever with a brush to get in the all the nooks and crannies.

Yeah, the ones with the hopper would. You'd be forever filling/cleaning out the hopper. Those that have a suction pipe aren't a problem. You do have to prime the machine with paint, and then, flush it with water....but, that's really not a problem.

Was it the exact same model as the Aldi one?

Ah ok.

Is that the one with the hopper yeah?

I use a black and decker one for mine... About 60 quid and works fantastically. Thin the masonry paint down to just under double cream consistency and it sprays on a dream. Easy to clean up afterwards too. I highly recommend it.

Is that an airless sprayer or one of those compressor ones?

Ive got of them and they work fine when the paint is thinned but i want to be able to slather it on at full thickness!

Its coming tomorrow so ill give it a whirl and report back

No compressor... Just a fan that blows the paint out. I think the paint but I still get perfect coverage with just one coat
