Guidance on a personal level, mentoring, another pair of eyes and hands, someone to bounce thoughts off (and perhaps correct misconceptions before they become entrenched). Access to biological spares, bulk discounts, social interaction. You just need to be aware that some members may be conscripted to lead practical groups but have certain gaps in up to date knowledge. If you listen to the right members in here it will soon become apparent which you are dealing with.
Training done properly requires certain skill sets and presentation techniques on the part of the trainer. Any good trainer will be delighted to explain any queries you may have.
