AS on strong hive

So the Swarm and Mjt certified method is what I have done with only slight isse being that i may have taken too much brood with the queen to the new location.

Am i risking an abscondment? Should i slip back some of the brood in the morning? Or let them get in with it now?

As Drex and Swarm - there are many ways of doing swarm controls, and they do not always work out as hoped/planned for. Have a read through this http://www.drawhive.co.uk/swarmcontrol.html

Leave them alone now. They will sort it out. Just keep an eye on the queen less box for queen cells

In the past I've found that a hive that goes queenless can become a bit stroppy until they have a new queen,Hence I assume why the old queen would be left with the flying bees.

That't what I've found. One of the downsides of Wally Shaw's Modified Snellgrove II when near neighbours and same goes for taking the queen out into a nuc.

Had a think. I have a couple of clipped red queens that I had NUCed from previous swarm interventions. If I introduce one to a quarter-frame cage on an existing frame and leave for a week and then just keep removing QCs, good to go? Likely they will accept her earlier as now queenless?

Note: Recall I have pulled about 5 brood frames already and introduced open combs in their place interspersed in the brood nest so assuming will obviously continue to watch swarms.

Swapped boxes round so now have queen and a few frames of brood, open comb with the flying bees on original site. Plus I added the supers.

New site has all the bulk brood and nurse bees. I have added a nice plump red queen in a cage. Will give her 3 or 4 days. Probably has started QCs but will tear those down if the bees haven already...good sign they have accepted red Sonja, I guess.

Not asking for advice anymore as I am a ruddy expert now. If I have messed up I'll report back when there is blood on my hands.
