Well we received our first colony a month ago.
Although the Q has been quiet elusive, we know she is there as we have seen brood in various stages during each inspection and the colony has definately doubled in the time we have had them.

They have plenty of stores and have started to draw out the new frames either side of the origional 5 they arrived on and have started to store honey (most of which is capped) on one side of these.

However when we inspected today (which was 10 days since the last) we discovered 5 QC all complete with larvae and a couple of them capped.
There are also several drone cells (approx 2 dozen).

Is there anything we should be doing or are we just unlukcky and have swarmy bees?

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
