Apideas close to existing colony

Is this a good idea?
I want to place them 6 -8 feet away from a single full colony.
Will they be robbed out?.

well - for convenience sake all of mine get strapped in pairs, facing opposite directions, directly on top of existing hives.

Take them to another site,it reduces any chance of any going home and also reduces the risk of robbing.

I place lots of them in apairys with up to 40 hives or more, have never ever had any problems with the mini nucs being robbed, not at any time of the year,ever.
