Any Good?

Looking on "a well know auction site" for a big magnifying glass I found this.

Anybody think it might be useful for close up inspection of bees in an obseravtion hive?

Seems it but the things are selling for £5 or so. Others are £20 odd and less postage.

I have seen this many times on fleabay where an item can be say £2 plus £20 shipping and the same item can be £20 plus £2 shipping. Either way it is £22. It must dupe some people or they would not keep doing it.

Sorry can't help on whether the kit is any use. Amazon may be a better place to look as there are normally reviews which can be helpful.

at 200x it would just be a moving blur , might be better with a macro camera

i was looking at these too, as i wanted to do some close up videos aswell

Oh well. It was just a thought.

Really want a big lense to cover a wide area. Not really essential to have a camera, ,but it seems a shame to miss opportunity to photograph whats going on in hive.

MM, it doesn't save so much as the custom crew sett he Vat on cost + shipping costs and the VAT is aq much larger part than the import duty.
