However, watching 30 less-well-paid, intelligent blokes, chasing round a field a pig's bladder which isn't even spherical, is the height of sublime!

What gets me is that if I had a horse and treated it the way they do I'd soon find myself in court. Unless I was on a race-track and doing it so others could oggle, place bets and generally spend large amounts of money making a few people very wealthy.

IMHO if they have to shoot a horse they should shoot the jockey, trainer and owners too. That might make them treat their animals with a little more respect.

A few morons yes but footballers earn more in a week than top class rugby players earn in a couple of years!I remember Shane Williams telling me how much he was paid the first year he got in the Welsh squad - decent pay but no more than I was earning at the time
