Just a heads up my local association has just sent round an email with regard to AFB being confirmed by the inspector - on the Lizard. Just when we only worried about the weather, food and varroa...
 
what were they doing opening up colonies over winter?

or was it one of the FERA "random" studies from last year just being posted on beebase ie +ve but asymptomatic.

Someone found a suspicious dead hive? Doesn't have to involve inspections, although I've had the bee inspector out on Christmas eve before, when I had a colony I was unhappy with, based on the stuff on the floor.
