27th November - unexpected level of activity

Despite being inert for many days with only an odd bee seen venturing out all 4 hives suddenly burst into life this morning. Afternoon showed the activity dropped back to previous levels.
The flyers I could see appeared to be mostly undertaking orienting flights although a few were venturing out of sight and the ivy some distance away has had some secondary flowers developing.

Mine too have been active today. Looked like young bees orienteering. Later noted that the hive was splatered .cleansing flight!
