I tried moving my bees to a new site. 1 hive 1 nuc.
It was not far away from the former site so i plugged the entrance with grass and put some branches in front so they'd find their way out then reorientate.
I popped back a few days later to check all is well and found they had not managed to get out past the grass.
I opened up to find both colonies mostly dead and some comb had seemingly melted - it has been warm the last few days here.
so...now i have a massive pile of dead bees and two weedy, queenless colonies.
There is brood still in both but i suspect it is dud too.
What to do....?
Get a new queen and put it in one of them perhaps? Then combine the two?
