I note the Qs are marked green = 2024. Surely they were raised and mated in 2023?
In their FAQ there is a question "Where do you import your queens from?". The answer is:

Our Queens are supplied to us imported from Hungary, North Italy & Greece. All queens arrive into the UK with full health certification and are checked by a bee inspector on arrival.

I should imagine Greece has a head start on our queen breeding.

These are imports, unless Overwintered, you would not get any UK mated Queens until May earliest. Any before this time would be imports / overwintered.

We offer UK mated Queens in May in the form of our Essex Buckfast Queens - https://www.bshoneybees.co.uk/essexbuckfast.

The highest demand is mainly in April / early May, which goes to show the UK's reliance on quality imported stock.

We are now into our final allocations of Queens for 2024. Thank you to all those that have worked with us this season, we have been overwhelmed this year with positive comments and continuous orders for our Queen stock. We have reached record sales of Queens this year thanks to all of our customers.

Despite increasing weekly orders we have still sold out on pretty much every weekly allocation. We are now working hard through the data and figures to hopefully provide even more stock for 2025.
If you still need a last minute Queen, we have them available to order https://www.bshoneybees.co.uk/queens.

Thank you all again,
Daniel & Tristan
