Lemongrass, does it trigger hives into swarm mode?

Hi, Talking to a beek last week and he is of the opinion that lemongrass will trigger hives in the area into swarm mode. I used it last year and caught a few swarms but none were from my hives. I thought it an interesting statement but I am of the belief that it attracts rather than pulls...

    Has the Colony Swarmed?

Was your queen clipped, if so she would have not made the swarm and is lying in the grass somewhere. That is one theory but one of the more fimilar beeks on here should answer shortly. Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk 2

What did you do in the 'workshop' today

That looks very good swarm. Question, what is the height of the timber above the mesh? I made a few during the summer and had about 20mm above the mesh and about 12 over the solid. And to keep on topic, treated two swarm boxes and made a national brood which will be painted tomorrow.

lamp for mounting on a rifle.

Sorry Darren, meant to reply a few days ago but it escaped me. Have used it a few times in the last year as my neighbour was having hens & ducks taken. I have used it out to 120 yards but I have heard of others using it out past 150.

lamp for mounting on a rifle.

I use the Led Lenser P7 with the mount & pressure switch, its good and not that expensive. I used to have the Lightforce 170 but they are bulky, heavy and needed a battery pack but would still use the Lightforce plugged into the cigarette lighter when lamping from the car or whatever and when...

Maybe she is fimilar with "An Bechbretha", see below. An Bechbretha: Old Irish Bee Laws In Ireland during the early medieval period beekeeping was so important that there was a complete list of laws dedicated to beekeeping. The bee laws, called the Bechbreatha (Bee-judgments) were part of a...

    A touch of insulation

I have offcuts of foilbacked two inch insulation. Could I use this as a crownboard directly on top of the broodbox and would there be any thermal bridging by using it? Thanks
