I started to react quite bad last year as time went on though the year over 3-4 stings. Each one gave me a bigger reaction. I have started to learn how to reduce stings in the way i react to the bees and how i work with them.
I keep all my hives away from home and the main ones at a farm and i...
Marigolds just are not sting proof and all the other sergical gloves inc latex - Nitrial - Vitrial which is a sort of hybrid of latex and vinyl mix all are NOT sting proof.
I just use the Soft kid venterlated long sleeved gloves and use caution and look where you put your fingers.
As said...
Me too and mine was going mad after a one type of tree with what looks like a type of catkins on them, tree must of had a 4foot trunk on it so quite a tall tree.
Had a quick look at both of my hives and i have lost one over winter seems to be the queen failed
But the other made it though and my Nuc as well soo alls not so bad.
A fue pics tuck over the weekend
Look like this by anychance, i found this on the top of one of my hives it also got a wack as it was picking on my bees.
I dont like killing them just for the fun if i can help it.
I have had 100% success rate so far with this useing 1-2cc a week in the box. But alot is down to location, placement, hole size and box size. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200442532506
And well done with that swarm
Yep maybe it will be better off for them out the way. I belive from my grandad whoo is very upset about it all. It was the house wife that was "hell bent" that they had to go not so much him. I guess he was the puppet for her. Iam not angery about it just disappointed in all honesty.
My grandad...
Well to round this up my grandad said to move them so its the end of it really as its his house and he just does not want the crap from it all.
Which is fair enoth, if it was my house it would be come and have alook failing that fook off lol

Yer we will see i guess i will see what they say in a fue days and no doubt it will all come out in the wash. Just seams a but unfair as my three hive always keep away for there garden 99.9% of the time. kind of wish i did not bait this swarm of bees. Anyone have a clue what type they are ...
Yep i know "iam sucking eggs here, i can move them to where i work 4 miles away for a week so that problem wont be a problem.
I have a possible out apiary but i would like to keep away from this if possible.
I cant even have revenge really as its at my grandads house not mine :banghead:
My hives or back yard is hardly a state and is inclosed at the bottom of the garaden with woodn 8ft fence around them takes me 5mins a colonie so i hardly take forever. I think your missing the point my bees dont go in there garden. Its only because the feral swarm i got swarmed as i faild to...
Its all alittle enoying really as if they where out shopping or watching TV i would not be posting this till next time lol I know where they are comeing from and i do understand there point of veiw. I will know in a fue days as iam shore he will catch up with me sooner or latter, and i will keep...
Ok first of all i have had my bee hive down my grandads garden for around 14-16moths now and never been a problem. About 1-2months befor next door moved in. Last night after catching a ferel swam in my bait box at work. I tuck them to my grandads ot put them in a small hive but the queen got...
That sounds the best way, but i have WBC hives and i dont have any free outter lifts knocking about to keep rain out. Could i just leave the lifts off or maybe just leave one missing for 4-5 weeks or would rain get in even with the roof on and most the lifts ?
So iam guessing leaveing me with...
Iam shore my uncle who used to work in mantenance for British Suger for 30years said its first crushed up and then useing "super heated steam" above 300 Oc @ 10bar working pressure to refine it. I cant say i have ever heard him say anything about nasty chemicals ?
As above really just want to know the best way to do it if you get a queen in the post. For replaceing an old one in your hive.
Also how do people who breed queens insure that the dont interbreed ?
