    Solid floors

    Changing to OMFs

    I am about to change my floors to omfs. Can any body give me any advice about removing the solid floors and replacing them with the omfs? Mainly worried about lifting the brood boxes off the floors,am i going to loose my queen etc

    mouse guards

    I have entrance blocks on my hives as shown. Do i need to put mouse guards over these or will they be okay as they are? I do have two metal mouse guards if i need them.

    Cell identification help

    I had a look into one of my hives today and found this cell. Think it is a queen cell but not 100% sure. The cell is empty. This colony is a swarm that i collected on 15 june.There is plenty of brood covering 8 frames. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Not taking feed

    I picked up another nuc for myself at the weekend and placed it in the brood box on sunday morning. I was advised to put a feeder on to help them get going. Had a quick look in tonight and have noticed they have not touched the syrup at all. Is this normal?

    Storing foundation

    I have about 40 frames of foundation that i will probably not use this year. What would be the best way to keep these till next year as they have not been sealed for a couple of months.

    Feed holes in crownboard

    My two new hives appear to be doing well. I have stopped feeding now. What do others do regarding the feed holes? My crown board has two feed holes. Do i cover the or leave them open?

    Badger risk

    Im in a real panic, i have just been up to my site to check every thing is in order for my new bees, and i have seen a huge badger hole right next to the hive stands that i have made. Is this going to be a problem for me? Please, any advice would be really appreciated.

    Collecting nucs this weekend

    Im finally picking up my two first nucs this weekend. Im a bit concerned about the weather forcast. Can somebody tell me if its a good idea to pick them up and transport them about 40 miles if its raining? As these are my first bees,i dont want to get it wrong.
