How do I edit my profile?

I was being stupid - I was clicking on the avatar beside my post, not the one at the top - doh!

How do I edit my profile?

That's an attractive idea in many ways, but life has changed ...

How do I edit my profile?

Thank you - but however much I fiddle, I only get the choice of changing the avatar or reading my own old profile! I must be even more stupid than I thought!

How do I edit my profile?

I am a has-bee(n) in terms of keeping bees, for various reasons, and I had dropped off the forum. Since the last change to the forum I suddenly started getting the daily summary of posts again, and I am enjoying lurking around, especially the political comments. It is good to feel part of a...

    Workshop Heating

We did this at a previous house where I used the garage for an office, and it worked very well

Anyone fancy a bit of voluntary work in Africa?

    Have sent you a PM!

    Might move to Molesworth soon

As a lecturer in an FE institution, I'll have you know that they do not "specialise in flower arranging and alternative therapies" - the evening classes have just about disappeared now - but offer vocational and academic courses at all levels up to first degrees - so there! H

To feed or not to feed?

There is a brood box with two supers below it. The reason, if I have worked out how to link to another post, is here: http://www.beekeepingforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=13670 As I said at the top of that post - I was (am?) incompetent! Helen

True! I have made a whole crowd of mad friends! All my 'real' (not virtual) friends think I am the mad one!

    New Year Resolution

I really need to resolve not to spend quite so much time reading the forum - but on the other hand, I enjoy it and learn a lot!

This thread has become really interesting (and amusing, in places!) Thank you RAB for your helpful answer to my question - like Luminos, I am doing some copy and paste work to refer to later. Helen

    Ironing beesuit !?

One of my sons was staying with his Grandma for the weekend once, and she caught up with the ironing while he was playing. He came up to her and said "I think my Mum's got one of those somewhere" - that's how much stuff I iron!

To feed or not to feed?

Thanks for advice - I was worrying about the balance between not feeding enough and feeding too much so there would be nowhere to lay when it matters. Feeling a bit more confident now!

    Oxalic Results

Rab, I am one of the new beekeepers who has been 'frightened' by the local 'experts' into treating with Oxalic in my first winter, but I want to aim for good enough IPM this next year to be confident it is not needed. For the benefit of other new people as well as me, can you give us am...

To feed or not to feed?

Thanks for comments. I am another one not confident about hefting, (especially as this hive has three boxes and it will need to get very light on stores before I will feel the difference!) I will look with a torch, but will probably go back tomorrow and put the fondant on regardless, as it...

To feed or not to feed?

I treated all but one of my hives with OA last week, and added a generous amount of fondant to each one, as per the advice we were given at our local BKA Oxalic demo. They each have (had?) a super of stores below the BB. In most hives there are many more bees that I expected, and they are...

    Thinking about starting, need advice.

One more piece of advice (I have just finished my first summer) Buy your bees from someone recommended (either locally or on here) - DON'T get impatient and order them from a good-looking internet site because no-one locally has come up with any yet! (I did a bit of both, and the...
