I have just caught a large swarm and housed it for now in a national pol nuc box. I already have 3 hive and 3 fine for now. A friend would like to buy some bees? but this is not a nuc with laying Q and brood in all stages with stores etc etc. So how much is it worth ?

Did the full inspection today ... 7 frames of brood in all stages mainly caped. and 5 frames full of honey. Full to the brim :smilielol5:

What happens if you put back on a super after extraction. And then feed. Will the bees simply fill the super back up with the feed ? is this a good way to make sure you have enough stores for winter with out filling the brood box with feed. Thus giving the Q space to lay?

I have a hive with a newly mated queen, eggs and brood at all different stages. But i inspected tonight and found a queen cell with rather a large grub in there. Bit late for a swam, plenty of room in the hive, did not see the queen but as i said loads of eggs and brood in all stages...

Did an AS, Nuc hive all good laying well. Growing fast. QC has now opened and queen hopefully emerged. The problem is the, where the bees were going to swam they filled the brood chamber with nectar, leaving the old queen no room to lay, thus thinning her down so she could fly. The bees then...

Just did an inspection and the queen cell is open, the cell looks like it has been well cleaned and the entrance is perfectly round nothing inside? Could not see the new queen either but she would not be marked. No eggs and lots and lots of stores on most frames. Could a newly hatched queen...

Just did an inspection to see how things were going. I did an AS 3days ago moved queen into another hive with eggs brood etc. Be have now started to fly. Put 3 frames of brood in with her and a very good shake of new bees + foundation. Bees are still there but cant find the queen? just lots of...
