Seen this recently with a fairly new beekeeper with a shortage of equipment - better than no frame at all but can obviously increase varroa if they draw out wild drone comb...
Solution is to keep a couple of the 50 frame seconds packs (from the sales) around for such emergencies. Much cheaper...
I just discovered a really good way to remove propolis 'just like that' - Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner - works really well on plastic feeders and hive tools. Might work on leather gloves, poly hives etc but not yet tested. It might damage surfaces so try it at your peril - without gloves it will...
"Keep calm and carry on posting" sprang to mind.
I have already mentioned that I saw Victor and his hat but didn't realise the significance until afterwards. More marketing required or is this just a game for the die-hards?

:iagree: That's the same as me - I do sometimes feel a bit itchy all over a day or so later with no other signs or symptoms - might be a coincidence. Hopefully good for arthritis!!!

Suggestion: put some thermal panels on the roof and pump the fluid into the attic to an 'extractor' - should easily exceed the melting point methinks!

..and therein lies the rub - some forum members are frightened to put any links in case they get censored. Please read the rules and you'll realise that there's no embargo on links - just a rule against self promotion by sellers...

I use a frame's top rail to get that distance right - no measuring required!
No lugs or lips - you'll find out why when you have to replace a heavy super onto the 'stack' whilst trying to not squash the workers...

I'm confused - is there a rule on here that I don't know about which says you cannot have links in posts?
Here's that link for those that want to be able to click on it without messing about - http://www.thegemden.co.uk/tumble.htm

ps. I had one of those tumble polishers as a kid - still...
You'll forgive me for disagreeing with you Chris - as an Auctioneer you have the ultimate power to control who bids and by how much. I just think it would have been more transparent if you'd mentioned which lots were yours.
With regards the numbering it was a bit of a shambles - at one stage...
Needs full renovating, no heating, no vehicle access (think building supllies etc), unreliable services, possible flooding etc etc. I'd buy a narrow boat instead...

Paynes. There, I've said it. Paynes! Paynes! Paynes!
How can telling somone what the make of hive they have be considered as advertising? Why put asterisks in it?

I'd strapped 2 together next to an empty hive - returned after the 'wind' to find the poly hives on the ground nose down and the empty hive strewn around. Stacked it all back up and strapped the poly hives to the stand. Another lesson learnt!

You're not the 1st person to say that unfortunately. Luckily you seem to have come through unscathed. So far...
My 1st instructor suggested brood and a half - even Seeley thinks this gives the ideal volume for a colony!

It's a For Sale section FFS - who cares who is doing the selling be it a small beekeeper covering his/her costs or someone doing it as a business. If they start selling from the discussion area then that will need moderating but otherwise they are covered by the laws of the land which protect...
Hit the nail on the head - as with the rules on links it's all a bit hit'n'miss.
And a donation is optional - this donation was 'required' to allow the advert - the advert was disallowed so the donation should be returned.
