thanks for ideas guys, have a damaged egg incubator lying in shed so may attempt to convert. Had the Exo Terra but it went moody after a week so was sent back

Not intending to hijack this post but quick related question....What incubators are you guys using? Have just returned one I had as it was playing up...so looking to get another.

After having a swarm take up residence in a spare BB in my garden last Thursday, I get home to another making it their home today. There were a lot of bees flying around, fighting going on where bees were trying to enter whilst others were protecting it...lot of casualties all around the ground...

As the title says....got my first swarm today :) came home from work tonight to find one had decided to make home in a spare brood box that was in my garden. Hopefully they will stay put, currently looking at 5 seams all working away cleaning the frames, box etc... I will move into a clean hive...

paid £82.50 for the 300 = 27.5p per jar can't remember exactly what the price was for the 500 but know I wasn't going to save any more if I bought them think it was around 27.73p per jar

I think it was around .25 of a penny cheaper per jar in the 300 against buying 500 I bought the 300 after checking the difference....

The price worked out cheaper per item when buying in 300's rather than the 500's :)

Just came across this post /thread, I am working to the same plan with converting a fridge into a Honey heating unit / Wine + beer fermentation unit using the same equipment. had been searching for suitable 60 watt heaters rather than 45 watt ... seen a couple but one supplier out of stock and...

Combined the colonies today....removed Q- / Drone laying queen/ laying workers hive from stand and replaced with Q+ colony, as it was warm the bees were flying and plenty of pollen going in with bees from original colony. Went through Q- hive frame by frame, still was a good size colony...
