Hi Trussey Firstly they are not honey bees. I am no expert but I think they are tree bumble bees. They will not cause any damage and will disappear later in the year. Personally I would leave them bee.

My association apiary is some 12 miles away. Would drones go into another hive to be able to get marked? Surely they wouldnt get past the guard bees of someone elses hive?
