One of my two hives is queenless and has been for several weeks. No eggs, larvae etc. very little activity and numbers have dramatically been reduced. My question is - there are two supers full of honey on this fading hive but non of it has been capped. Is it possible/sensible to transfer them...

I have two queenless colonies and only have two colonies to my name. I simply cannot find them. I see no eggs etc. what will the colony do now ? Are they doomed ? It's been a tough first summer.

Had a great time at 71st UBKA Annual Conference at the Greenmount Campus, outside Antrim. This was my first time at such an event. Interesting lectures and got stocked up with all the bits and bobs that I require this summer from the fantastic variety of trade stands that we're present.

Welcome bsj. This time last year I had no bees. It's a great adventure. You will have a ball.

Freezing in Dundrod, Co Antrim. Snow showers earlier today. No bee activity. So spent all day drinking beer.........wine this evening..........red too.

I placed a carton of fondant on Sunday, coz I have done bugger all for the bee's since October and sense I should be doing something.

Better do a stock check and decide what will be required for two hives :calmdown:

I took a photo and cleared the entrance and then went back into the house.
