Hi guys I went to check on one of my hives today and all is looking really good, my Queen has started to lay in the supers so I think I'm going to get an excluder, that's bees and they seem to be multiplying nicely I wanted to breed from this box and do a split, I was just wondering there's probably only a very small handful of drone larve, do you think by the time a new queen has hatched there will be more drones available? Or do you think I should hold off

Clem, it's drones form other hives that are important as queens rarely mate with drones from their own hives.
As long as you see drones it's a good indication that other hives in the area will also have drones.

There will be plenty of drones in Hampshire, go for it!
