When last inspected about a month ago one of my hives was getting honeybound with only one frame of brood (single BB National, no super) and the rest full of honey and nectar.
Anyway, I did nothing about it, but since then it has been extremely active, except in the very worst weather, including today with apparently lots of ivy going in.
Ive no idea where they can be putting it (I dont see much point in opening them up this time of year).
I would have thought that if a hive became honeybound the bees would become much less active... but maybe thats human, not bee, logic.

It always amazes me how static the weights stay at this time. They're bringing loads in but the weight doesn't move much so clearly they are using it too!

Hi Buzzlodge, Well, I don't know about your locale, but mine are busy producing winter bees at the moment, so eating it. Also, someone on the forum always says it takes three frames of nectar to produce one of honey. Keep hefting.
