I colllected a prime swarm about 3 weeks ago, they have built up very well nearly filling a brood box, compared to my other bees these seem to be workaholics even flying when it rains, they are a different colour to my bees more ginger probs a bit of buckfast in them but I'm sure they came from a ferel colony. I'm thinking of rearing from them before the end of the season any advise on how to go about it and should i move my other colonys out or should I let them in rich my other bees gene pool

sorry nothing useful to add - but lucky you getting what sounds like a handy asset. I will be interested in seeing the constructive advice :)

That is normal behaviour for a swarm. The other thing to consider is that it will be a bit longer before you can assess temperament, brood pattern etc so breeding from them is maybe not the best strategy at this stage?
