Turning hive around.

My hive is at the end of my veg garden and faces east across open fields.
In the winter it get's the full North/East wind and I am thinking it may be good to turn the base around so that it is more sheltered from the wind.
Is this something to be concerned about ?

if you do it in the witer it will also confuse the bees less
