Might have been discussed before but this was a great show and thought of our Welsh Beekeepers when watching it

Available on iplayer for a while more

Wales’ first Rastafarian beekeeper Phillip Henry stole the show imho !!

Also learned about this historic Somali population in Cardiff which I wasnt aware of ...

Diversity rocks !

The CBBC beekeeping show starting soon features beefarmer Curtis Thompson, aka Local Honey Man.

When Curtis was about 14 he was introduced to beekeeping by his Uncle, a Rastafarian who kept bees the Jamaican way on the Lea Bridge Road in North London. Curtis loved beekeeping so much that although he'd begun to climb the slimy pole of investment banking, he left it to set up a honey company.

Curtis' Uncle was remarkable: entering his orbit was like walking into a glow of peace, and he would check his bees without smoke, and rarely a veil.

London BKAs are becoming more diverse than of old, and at Epping Forest we take pleasure in having members of all ages and all cultures.
