This book was written by Jurgen Tautz, german of course, and translated. I am now three quarters of the way through it and it is brilliant. The research behind it is second to none but the text is not overly scientific. There are plenty of areas where the writer states categorically that he does not know the answer and there are lots of excellent snippets that can be dropped into conversations next time you are with your beek friends! . Finally the photos are wonderful and I would recommend this book as a great read. The only disadvantage is the price - about £23 on Amazon.

Same here. Bought it and read it cover to cover within a week. I've loaned it out to my Association, but hope to get it back soon, for a second go.

Absolutely worth every penny.
