In an OUT.. OUT.. Apiary, quite a distance from my other two, had the option of putting a hive in that was never going to get the attention the others get.

Clipped and marked queen .. but whilst I was away for just under three weeks ... think... I lost a cast swarm . Either that or another local colony swarm were attracted to the vicinity.

Anyway, was standing under this tree, as I do when not kitted up, watching my bees when I happened to notice a small bit of comb at my feet, and looked up and Weeeheey there it was.

God I love this hobby ! :D

That comb having been picked clean, the colony has clearly failed (not unsurprisingly given their nest site).
However, to have built that much comb, there must initially have been a fair few bees that have since perished.



By the way, I can't tell from the orientation of those combs which way the ley line runs ... :reddevil:
