Fancy catching my first swarm, in a bait hive

any top tips?? :):thanks:

In a bait hive do you mean? Otherwise you have to find one first!!!!! Bit confused!

Best thing I was given was a lure paste. They said it was a mixture of beeswax, olive oil and lemongrass oil. Think the recipe is online but after I smeared that on a few boxes I had lots of interest.

I'm not an expert as first year beekeeper...

I put my bait hive (std national nuc) 10 feet up in tree with an old drawn comb and some for fleabay lure with 4 frames with just starter strips. Had my first swarm in 2 weeks. Have seen others say national nuc is too small on here but worked for me....
Swarm now in a full hive today as filled 6 frame poly that I transferred it to.

I had no problems catching a swarm in a nuc size box. I used a poly Nuc as a template and made 4 bait boxes out of OSB. Worked just fine.
