I found a load of sealed queen cells in the hive, together with recent eggs and the queen.
I have torn down all but two of the queen cells and have moved the queen and a couple of frames of brood to a nuc, and shaken a couple of frames of bees in.
Doh!
I have realised that I should have moved brood and queen cells and left the queen on the original site.
Should I try to rectify this, or leave the queen in the nuc?
(in a second hive, I found queen cells and eggs but no queen. I have left just two queen cells and have left it be)
