Swapping hive/nuc positions

Never tried this but can you swap positions of strong and weaker nucs or hives to boost numbers and make them stronger to even them out a bit wasn't sure if it was a safe method anybody uses?

Is there any rule of thumb to follow when doing this? For example can swapping a weaker nuc/hive into a strong hive position result in any possible problems and any harm to queen with the heavy influx of new foragers?

It depends how weak is weak really. A very weak hive would get anhiliated, but if it's just a matter of a hive needing a bit of a boost then fine.
