Third queen of the summer autumn and the first to get it right.
Having left my latest (and only purchased) queen to get on with it for a few weeks I had a very quick check before work today and lo and behold I had eggs, larvae and capped worker on the first frame I pulled out. Also saw marked HM scuttling about. I peered down the adjacent and saw at least 2 more frames with capped brood. Its been a fairly big brood gap now but the hive was supplemented with a full frame of brood as well so hopefully they should be okay.
Happy beek today.
The advice now would be feed feed feed feed and then feed more ?
I did notice after all my praise of the ashforth poly feeders that sugar crystals had built up over the last three days and blocked access for the bees to the feed. I chipped them out quickly but might have to give it a good scrub.
