I haven't been posting much on the forum of late however, following a conversation this morning, a request for your considered observations.
Nuc transfered into full hive day 1. Queen present and laying. Emerging brood/brood-in-all-stages present. Eggs and various sized larvae present. Bees closed in and hive collected by person B.
Hive delivered to person C on day 2. Bees orientating and foraging.
Bees inspected by person C on day 3. Purchaser reports that there is no sign of a laying queen in the hive i.e no eggs or larvae.
Additional information: Nuc was bursting with bees, strong foragers with @2 frames of their own stores. Nuc moved from an area in which Summer nectar sources are now tailing off and full colonies are displaying a decrease in the size of the brood area.

- What do you think has happended to the eggs and larvae visible when the bees were transferred into the full hive?
- Have you experience of stressed bees cannibalising larvae?
- Will heat stressed bees cannibalise larvae?
