I had a look early, when the temp had risen to a balmy 8 C and still no activity.

The stethoscope was put to good effect and there's still a cluster of bees in there; I just want to see them!

There's loads of Hazel pollen almost within grabbing distance of the hive, and now there's even Crocus too! Come and get it, foragers!!!

FG - is the front of the hive getting any sun at all ? It might pay to temporarily relocate it to a sunny aspect (south facing) as they really should have been flying today - we had great weather here today - the hives were flying very strongly.

It had a bit of sun for an hour or so.

I think they may have been flying for a while today as, when I came back from the shops, there was a dead bee turfed out on the landing board.

They're definitely alive, it's just a cold, shady spot I guess. There isn't anywhere else that is out of the way enough. I might try and find some space on the Farmer's land (since his cows are TB quarantined and have been for ages).
