I assume that must be or winter feed in Finland because I doubt that UK hives need 30 kilo of sugar per hive.

I calculated that money becauseyou love to feed bees with very expencive special foods.
Of course honey is the most expencive, £ 150 /hive
What ever, you must feed as much they take in. Hive must be full. Otherwise they do not cap stores.

I left about 4 frames of stores in each of my full colonies for winter and they didnt eat all of that.....so nowhere near £150 per hive, which leads me to assume those calculations are for Finland.

I will however point out that those frames of stores were in a super box and dont know what stores, if any, where in the brood box.

You are dreaming. When normal hive has brood in spring, they spend that much in one month..

It is like your honey yield, 225 g/hive

Ah! The Finish based UK beekeeping expert...

You have no idea of what my honey yield is so do please stop being silly.

.
You told it. And you have told that you do not even care about honey yield. You have better to do than nurse hives. That is enough about Br beekeeping expert.

Yeah, art of do nothing beekeeping...

It didnt "told it" that that was what the yield was.... I said that that was all I took...

I didnt say I have better to do than nurse hives.. I dont worry about honey yield because I dont have the time involved with extracting, buying jars etc and selling it. If there is honey there I will take some for myself and my family and friends..The rest I leave for the bees, which also means I dont have to mess about buying sugar and feeding them for the winter.

A do nothing beekeeper???????????? because I dont sell honey for petrol?

You took and then you left in each hive 4 frames. It is about 6-8 kg.

Yield is what you take off. My hives bring that much in 2 days.

The reason, why you do not get more honey is you do not control mites.
It is very normal in do nothing beekeeping. Like that one guru said that he do not even open hives for years...heh..simple. When hive dies, next swarm come in. I knew those guys plenty 50 y ago.

Thats a pathetic answer in trying to get out of a hole.,

I didnt say anything how much I took off in total over the year.....just that I left 4 frames......so you dont know what the yield was....do you?

Any chance of getting back to the question of if the £20 per hive winter feeding cost is for Finland or UK?

Oh I see you added a bit..

The reason, why you do not get more honey is you do not control mites.

Point .... (again) you dont know how much honey my hives produce, so therefore you cant say that I would get more honey if I "control for mites"?? and the fact that I dont use OA doesnt make me one of the people who you knew 50 years ago who didnt even open their hives... Completely different.
