That is many ways better to handle.
Very clever is to use normal brood frames. That makes all simple.

When you use simple wood panel or ply, much more easier is to make a new box than split normal box.

Yes but bees get food from nature. Feeding only fills small brood area. Of course the nuc needs food frame and pollen frame to live properly in rainy days.

Yea is suppose a frame of honey frame of pollen would be better.
