I've a super on a hive which is around 80% full of stores and in which the bees have capped around 60% of those stores. So far so good. But the level of filling and capping hasn't really changed much in the last 4 weeks or so. Every time I check I expect to find it full, capped and ready for extraction, but with no joy. There is another more or less empty super underneath the full one (ie, between the brood box and the top super) but they are only slowly drawing that one out.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I be doing anything to encourage them to get on and finish off the honey in the top super? Should I take off the lower (nearly empty) super? Or do I just wait until they are good and ready?

That's the reason, they draw comb when they need it. Only a flow or feeding will get them to draw the bottom super. I would clear the empty super, give them a week or two and then see how they are looking.
You did nothing wrong really, the flow just stopped. If it had gone on for another week you would probably have two full supers.

:iagree: the weather is better next week hopefully the girls will get out more and collect nectar and finish the super of.
Im in the same situation so I've condensed the supers down hopefully they will cap them.
