SHB Contained?

As its raining was trying to find info about current situation with SHB in Italy.
Despite our fears it looks like it has not established itself. Or is this wishful thinking?

DEFRA/NBU were a bit sceptical as to what not finding anything might mean.

They also pointed out that the 'exclusion zone' would be due to be lifted in December and that upwards of 10,000 colonies from colder parts of Europe are typically sent to overwinter in the milder climate of Southern Italy, where they get off to an earlier start.
They've been doing 100% inspections on imported package bees (that they are aware of).

Wishful thinking I think. Went to all the lectures with Peter Neumann and Franco Mutinelliat this year's convention and the prognosis was that SHB is now established in Italy - they didn't discover it until after the second (or third) brood cycle so it's there to stay
 
APHA "Associations’ Forum, South Eastern Region – National Bee Unit" held at DEFRA, Smith Square, Westminster, last Friday.

Sorry, what does APHA stand for?
