Due to serious life changes I am forced to sell up.

With a couple of exceptions all my kit is Swienty Poly. Or in other words top grade.

I have colonies for sale, I have nucs for sale, I have empty hives for sale and nuc boxes. For prices (which will be keen) and a list please email:

im really sorry your having to give up PH. I hope things get better for you.

Re your bees i think you could do with giving a little info about the quality of bee you have as there are many new members who would not be aware of the effort you have put into you bees and how good they are.

i just wish i were able to purchase some but due to changes in my life i have very little funds for new kit unless the bees produce the cash for me.

Don't know what to say really, I can't believe one of my first mentors is now giving it up, but for whatever reason it is it must be a good one and I hope that everything works out for you.

I'd second that ... so much from PH influenced my current beekeeping. I wish him well whatever the future holds.

Aye well it maun be tholed......

Such is life people and you have my email if it is desperate and if it is life and death there is always the phone.

Ok so the bees and kit. Apart from three Langstroth nuc boxes, one poss with bees (Swienty) and one Langstroth hive empty. (Polish)

All the rest of the kit is National Poly.

The bees are Carniolians originally. The strain is Austrian and bred up in NZ for climatic reasons. My last input of new blood was three seasons ago. They are calm and quiet bees, I honestly cannot remember the last time I even lit the smoker. However they will want to swarm and I have found that by splitting the colony into at least two and letting then produce new queens from young open cells (after disposing of mum) they settle beautifully.

They have all been treated with Oxalic acid and in 2014 when I was testing with drone comb I could not find a varroa in the drone brood. Oh they have Varroa for sure but it at lest then was at a low level.

In 2014 one colony produced 220lbs of Lime Tree honey. They CAN be productive if conditions are right. For balance I will also say I took no honey last year due to weather.

My apiary is due to become a railway yard and the landowner has asked me to quit. Further due to health we are selling or at worst closing the business at the end of July 2016 so to make the move easier I intend selling off most of my kit. I am researching the going price and intend selling at less than that esp to beginners.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Sorry to hear you're giving up. It must be a terrible decision to have to make.

I have sent a message about this thread to one of the new beekeepers from our local group though.

Very sad PH as everyone speaks very highly of you and your experience, as a newbee I have sent you an email as I would be interested possibly in some items.

That's a great shame. Hope all goes well.

Bees spoken for

Happy to say (from my perspective) that all the colonies and nucs are now spoken for.

There are still some supers and Nuc boxes to have.

I would mention in passing there is somewhere on a site a wee discourse on the uses of Nucs.

http://-----------------/art-craft-nucleus-creation-management/ hmmmm add poly-hive in the dashes...:)

First come first served.
