I have been given a swarm of small black bees, which I am very excited about!

If they have the 'right qualities', can I use eggs from the black bees to re-queen my other colony which has larger ginger bees? I don't need to currently, but had wondered if it was possible.

Thanks,
Emily

Hello Emily,
Yes you can create a hopelessly queenless state and then give them a frame of eggs.
If they are particularly nice bees you could even try simple queen rearing via Demarree next season.
