Queen problems-weather or something deeper?

I don't think its as common, at least not in my part of the country, as you say.

Unfortunately it is becoming very common, quite a few have lost bees due to it, even this year, and ITLD wrote a piece about it a short while ago, some have reported 50% losses....

Some guys...bee farmers....have had a rising pattern over the last three years or so and its getting really serious now.
 
This year significant deformed wing problems and some crawling bees and a large amount of supercedure - year old queens and also ones that have been laying just a few weeks.
 
Hi stillearning, Bearing in mind the long season we had last year and how difficult it was to get rid of varroa despite treating, I am not surprised that there are a lot of pathogens around this year. I can confirm CBPV and DWV in my area and I would say that the early stages of CBPV is not that readily recognised by many beeks. Thanks for giving a heads-up to us all.
