Any thoughts, strong double brood colony, no signs of swarm prep but becoming very pollen bound especially to centre. Not something I've come across before

It happens with me a lot with big colonies I simply add a third brood. The queen often goes up but they can be pushed back down when you remove your crop.

Same here; third brood goes in-between the other two, but can be on top. As the main flow starts Q is put down and the QX is put beneath the third box. Once the brood has emerged from the top BB it'll be used as a super; after extraction, spray combs with Dipel and store away from rodents. Drawn comb is a great asset.
