What hive you are using.

What spare kit you have (if any)

Status at last inspection and timing of.

Level of confidence/competence...(not the same thing..lol) As in can you see eggs? Can you spot queens, etc...

My reason for posting is a number of people have posted woe is I but not given this info which really makes offering aid a bit hit and miss.

I nearly choked on my coffee.
Perhaps responders to questions should give a quick resume of their experience and competence too, naturally this would have to be vetted by someone of impeccable qualifications, perhaps you'd be up for the job?
Or alternatively we can keep rules and such to a minimum to avoid putting people off posting.

I think it's likely that most people starting threads in the Beginners Section will be beginners. :)

The reason that a lot of people ask questions without any background information is because they lack the experience necessary to know WHAT the background is ...and if they did, in the heat of the moment, they have probably forgotten ..

The expression that goes ' when you are up to your arse in alligators it's easy to forget that your original objective was to drain the swamp' come to mind ...

This forum has always been one where even those questions that go 'My bees have died - what should I do ?' receive fair and sympathetic answers ... perhaps with a bit of guidance to help them assess what the conditions were that caused the 'woe' in the first place.

This thread should probably disappear rapidly back the way it came ... blunt end first !

Thanks for the less than helpful comments.

If more info is given it helps all of us to give reasonable advice or is that just too simple?

A lot of people don't mind cajoling information and as a thread develops others with similar problems join in, the thread might diverge a little but things get done in the end.
