Any tips on giving fondant to a Paynes Poly NUC, there is obviously not any space above frames, considering placing in the feeder on the side of the NUC but it could end up messy in spring, I regret not buying a super if one exists to give some space for fondant...

They sell a Poly eke for the Nucbox for £10 (less if you can hold off till boxing day)

there is actually quite a lot of space above the frames but below the clear screen, roll it into thin sausages and place on the frames

I bought 21 NUC's to test polys (my first go at polys!) from Paynes a few months ago and realised the same thing.

The ekes cost about £10, but a 14x12 was only a fiver more than a national.
The spacer to convert a national to 14x12 is the same thing as an eke. I was a bit miffed, but spoke to Paynes and they sold me the spacers at the same price difference between the national and 14x12.

They are bad for not advertising the recommendation, but first class customer service for doing the deal at the cheaper price...

Build a wooden eke and line it with Kingspan with a hole for a big lump of fondant in a plastic box of some sort. I've used these for 2-3 years and they work well.

Also compensates for the terribly thin roof ;)

Happy Christmas

Like that red colour, we just bought ekes along side which are the 14x12 converters act as space for fondant and as above cut a layer of insulation to fit and help compensate for the roof.

I take out clear crown board and replace with correx for sale sign. Cut feed hole in this. Then use another 14x12 eke with 2" insulation board in. Make sure you block of the internal feeder

Fatshark, that looks a good design. Any more pics?

I'm interested in what you did at the bottom of the EKE. Is that a crown board at the bottom that is the same size as the outer dimensions i.e. 500mm?
