The Newbie colony is still acting strange. I added some more 1:1 syrup yesterday as it was empty. I did a quick check and there are still loads of capped and uncapped brood in the original frames. There does appear to be pollen and honey stores in the end frames. I think they have just populated the newly inserted drawn frame with more stores but I didn't make any notesAny nuc's i have that have been on three frames of brood with the rest of the frames being full of stores have been put in a full hive and they are thriving, all but one that i gifted to a newbee ? .. one of the nucs i put into a full box 4/5 wks ago has two supers on that are quickly filling..
. I am going to do a complete inspection on Sunday hopefully and can do a full update then. I have one more drawn frame that I can insert to try and kick start the expansion. I did remove the super to try and encourage them to concentrate on the BB frames but now I think I need to put it back on to try and get them to move the stores up. Today possibly.To top it off, my dog got stung in the paw as she must have stepped onto one in the grass.
