New Bee
Greetings from Shropshire! I am currently on a brilliant introductory course with Shropshire Beekeeping Association with a view to getting bees next year hopefully. Looking forward to picking up some tips and advice! Many thanks.
Thank you, I intend to. I'm in the process of trying to learn as much as can before embarking. My grandfather kept bees for many years and I've enjoyed poring over his handwritten notebooks from the 1950s. I fully appreciate that more than a few aspects may be out of of date, but very much ready to listen and learn. I'm finding our beginners course very useful and interesting.Welcome, Jsr77
Fist piece of advice would be ,
Play nicely and you will learn a lot, research some of the forums on this site, there is an amazing amount of good information from people who actually keep bees and enjoy
Believe it or not as clever as we think we are we stil do not know what we dont know ! the basic of beekeeping never change, study your grandfathers notes and adapt if necessaryThank you, I intend to. There is a good beekeeping group in knighton. They meet a couple of times a year , in normal times , for a pint and a chat about bees! No costs involved unless you want to use their equipment. Not related to any association.West Shropshire near Shrewsbury

John and Wendy .Another Shropshire lass here! There’s a good equipment supplier in Langdon on tern between shrewsbury and Telford. He’s kept bees for almost 50 years and is really knowledgeable and will help with any queries or kit. It’s hedgerow honey but can’t remember chaps name!!!
I didn't realise there was so many on here from Shropshire
I'm not even a true salopian I've been here 17 years but... I'm Herefordian, Welsh and Austrian. There's a lot on here would like to be able to say they're from Shropshire but they live just outside the boundary in the county of Wales and don't qualify as Salopians .

In jest of course,I'm sure there is a Herefordian saying.... truly it's a wonderful county the Shropshire Hills being my favourite and which is why I've stayed here and will always..........now your're just taunting your detractors.
