Thanks Craig most of the folkes on the course were bee keepers and I have learned more about bee keeping in 2 days the course instructor is a mature bee keeper of many years.

I've been looking for a course on skep making. Where did you go? Who ran it? How much did it cost?

Nice one. Probably too high a quality product for normal swarm collection. Should last for ages, that one.

Glad you used the time to increase your knowledge on beekeeping as well as learning a new craft. Makes it a really cost effective in value for money terms! Well done.

Course details

I went to the open air museum at singleton if anybody wan't details please send me private message. It took 10 hrs to make but this is my first attempt I have started the next one looks like it will take me about 8 hrs.
 
I'd be intrigued as to what straw you were using and what you used for the binding.
