I’ve been asked to move some hives

I got the heads up from the landowner of my out apiary that I’ll have to move my three hives. He’s having some construction work done in the vicinity so he just wants them moved to another spot on the property.

I’ll go to see him next week to find out exactly where. I imagine it’s going to be too far to justify shuffling them three feet per day though….

I guess the move will be over 20 metres and under 200 metres. Can I just move them in one go at this time of year or will I have problems?

no problem at all - get it done as soon as possible

will I have problems?

Not really, though do it when frost & v low temps. are unlikely. Reason is that if the cluster disintegrates in transit, the nest may not be able to move to reform.
