Hi,
Hope you guys can help. I purchased one of these clearer board from the last national honey show. The person I purchased it from did not have any instructions to give, he did tell me how to use it but my memory being as it is I can't remember :) Any one have any idea how I would use it, specifically which side goes closest to the super being cleared (ie under super being cleared and with cones closest to super being cleared?) and how long would I keep it on for. This is my first extraction so unsure.

Thanks.

Not actually used one like this but think the side you are showing is the "bottom" of the clearer board. i.e. this side should be facing downwards with other side uppermost under the super you are clearing. If this is wrong I hope other will correct and I will learn.

Although I've never seen one of these before I'd suggest you put it with the side in the photo downwards and the super to be cleared on top.

The logic is the bees will only have that little channel in the middle with the wide cone ends to leave the super but will have the two big areas either side with only the narrow cone ends to return.

Frankly, I don't like it...then again I prefer steam trains!

Thanks JustStarting & PH. Yes a high price now that I have seen the link you provided. I'll need to make some as per your instructions for my other hives.

Appreciate your quick replies.
